I'd definitely like for Mai to be involved in this somehow, even if she's working with a partner (possibly apprenticing Arch's nerdy slicer kid who loves online role-playing and is actually better at slicing than she is though she will never admit it :P).

Ahem. Now that I'm back again, I definitely want Cypress and Artavion to be involved in it.

Sounds good to me. I haven't had Cypress do the thing where he's sent out into the wilderness by himself yet, however.

I think we need to add one more major battle in the War of Darkness story. I was thinking and I'm going off what I know now but if anything is different please tell me. I want to have a large scale battle between the Brotherhood and the Cult of Shadows (No Jedi). I was thinking that maybe the Brotherhood would hire out the Mandalorians to help with the battle?

Now I'm not sure where this battle could take place but I want it to be somewhere along the lines as the actual battle of Agincourt in 1415.

For you non-history buffs or Shakespear lovers, it is the battle that took place on Saint Crispin's Day. It is where Henry V took on an overwhelming French Army. Also it is the decided battle in Shakespeare's Henry V play where Henry the 5th says; "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers..."

Well, Kash, I’m open to anyone wanting to battle, but here’s the thing…

The only battle that’s meant to be won for the good guys in the War of Darkness is the final one over Arcanix. After Arcanix, then there can be battles mopping up cult remnants. The reason for this is that I want it to seem like the galaxy only narrowly managed to avoid the completion of Sivter’s grand design.

Furthermore, the Cult of Shadow has no real space force to speak of. With a few exceptions, they’re mostly just personal ships belonging to cult members (as seen during the Battle of Onderon). Sivter isn’t empire building, he’s only interested in tearing apart what stands before him. The Cult of Shadow is a force for anarchy, not order.

So, during these larger battles, it’s going to be the Charon and their warships that will handle all of the large-scale fighting, and, as I already established, the Charon’s numbers are going to seem to be effectively limitless; Sivter has all of otherspace to call upon. Sheer numbers alone, if nothing else, will guarantee cult victories. It’s why Sivter went through so much trouble breaching dimensions and obtaining the Charon’s loyalty.

This is also why the main action in the WoD will be over in as little as 2 to 4 IC-weeks. If I had it go on much longer than that, with a basically unbeatable force, the galaxy would never recover and Sivter losing would become unfeasible in story-terms. It’s essentially an “if we don’t beat them now, it’s the end of everything” scenario.

To sum it up, the Brotherhood is free to engage the Charon, just don’t expect it to go too well for them. :oldrazz:

Halomek, can you give me a run through on the last battle. I would really like to get a good idea what will go down in the last battle.

Actually I was referring to the Charon to be the overwhelming enemy force that the BH went against in the battle. Sorry if I didn't clarify.

I guess it will have to be a combined force between the JO and BH anyone else in the fight too at the last battle.

Just for the record, the Brotherhood only have one actual destroyer in their limited arsenal of ships, and there ship will join forces with the Skywalker and any other ships that the Jedi have.

I’m not going to go into too much detail until we get closer to it, but the basics boil down to this:

The assembled fleet that moves to attack Arcanix will have to deal with a booby-trapped system-wide debris field before they can even reach the planet. Once there, a shield generator will prevent orbital bombardment, forcing a ground battle. Since the Charon will have been dealt with by this time, there won’t be much in the way of opposition in space aside from a massive number of droid fighters and derriphan-class labor drones.

Pryde, is Fiona still getting redeemed? I was thinking of having her fight Asemir at the final battle. One or the other can lose/die, depending on what you have planned for Fiona.

Well, originally Fiona and Arilyn were going to basically mind meld or something and Fiona gets redeemed that way, but I dunno... I'm subject to changing my plans a lot so let's just say for now that nothing is set in stone. ;)

I mean, if you guys need a tech person...

... I've maybe played one before. Maybe.

...and he might still be alive. And in a position that someone out there in the galaxy soon knows who he actually is.

(Alright, I'm talking about Garrett.) He has the distinction of being, in all previously-established liklihood, the best slicer in the galaxy. He out-sliced GAIT, broke Jedi encryption, and once broke into Coruscant to insert data worms into every single navi-comp in the galaxy.

AND - the two best parts - he's a master of astrogation and hyperspatial physics (how many other characters go on at length about this sort of thing?) AND has absolutely no connection to the force. Like a droid or something.

Sorry, X, I thought I had replied to this...

I think Garrett would be a great choice to break Sivter's encryption on the otherdrive. You'll have to work with Pryde though, since he's already volunteered his slicer, Mai Valentine, for that job. Mai's good, but I don't think she's at Garrett's level. Maybe she can apprentice to Garrett and learn a few things?

*Sigh* I failed my reflex save... :P

Anywho, I don't mind having Mai work with Garret on this. Maybe he'll bring Ms. McClure along, wouldn't that make for an interesting encounter?

in my most recent Narg Cantina post I alluded to someone breaking one of the standing challenges.

COULD IT BE MAI VALENTINE?

It could very well have been. In fact I'll put something up in the Reforging Connections thread to tie that in. ;) Could you tell me more about these challenges, though? Like what kind of information she would find?

I personally imagine it as a simply code breaking thing, because ultimately that's what hacking is: You're breaking the code (security) of the installation.

Then you find out how to contact Garrett! It's like a reverse lottery! Like the kind with the stoning you read about in elementary school.

Just out of curiosity, I'm looking to catch up on the WoD.

What threads should I be reading?

Well, the main ones to worry about would probably be...

The Main CoS thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8698
Reforging Connections: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9479
The Jedi Temple thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9212

And you might want to catch up on what happened at Necroa Prime, which can be found in the Harbinger of Darkness threads (the battle starts around page three on the first thread).
Part 1: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8581
Part 2: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9024

I'll also make a new thread for when everyone is finally ready to move onto the Battle of Alsakan.
