lol, Nice. There's a guy at my bro's work who's modified his Nerf gun to fire AA batteries with enough power to punch through dry wall. It's rather scary.

Back in high school, I enjoyed making my own foam-based weapons. It was quite fun, to use PVC piping and insulation foam and a TON of duct tape.

I love that thing. I have one of the Nerf guns, I think it's the Recon CS-6

In my freshman year, I had a one-handed sword, a mace, and I think a staff too, all PVC/insulation. A few months ago, I made sticks with a single length of PVC (abour 4'4") and insulation; they served well, though my buddies (of them army) got way into it and my knuckle is permanently misshapen.

Nope, not a LARPer, since that implies I RP. :P

I was a LARP'er too. Although I have to agree with Balsa that the RP part never worked - not that I didn't try. Too many 13-year olds...

Hmm. Nothing LARPwise here.
I do have chain shirt, two swords, a rapier, a mace and a dagger though. And a ton of other medieval stuff as in clothing, knives, and what not.

Nothing beats walking through a major railway station/city street in chain/leather armor armed to the teeth.

Don't people get arrested for that?

Nah. Most of these things are considered either decorative replica or tools, not weapons. The laws are a bit weird on some, but you cannot sensibly outlaw a mace while people can carry baseball bats with them. Or hatchets, at that. What you have to watch out with in Switzerland are butterfly knives or similar quickly-drawn weapons. Drawing them ready with a quick onehanded move is the defining factor, aside from blade length.

And armor isn't illegal anyway.

No, but I know of a couple of people here who got arrested for sword wielding. Of course, they were also crazy, but I digress... :P

*shrug*

Medieval festivals and fairs are pretty popular in Switzerland and Germany. Not much sword-arrestment done here :D

My little town of Meeker OK, has a full AMP-guard following. Kids get together with some other smaller towns on Sundays and go to war. I haven't watched them go at it in while. I might need to do there once the temperature goes back down.
